A few days back I and my beloved friend were sitting in the classroom to take the lecture. No matter what subject it was she suddenly started feeling insentient and was asking for a chocolate to me and our other classmates desperately. I remember she used to bring chocolate every day and most of the time we used to have it together. But I never know the reason is that serious.

She was a patient of orthostatic tremors and her thyroid gland was malfunctioned. Whenever she feels nervous or discovers any nervous system associated trait she starts shaking her legs. Therefore, she used to carry chocolate to feel better instantly.

I realized the benefits of chocolate and that incident brings me to write about chocolate in depth. It is made up of tropical Theobroma cacao tree seeds. Prior to a couple hundred years ago, cacao was chiefly prized for its medicinal properties.  Its unique, delicious and sweet taste make you fall in love with it again and again. Though it is infamous for weight gain, acne, and high blood pressure, excluded from eatables by many people, has numerous health benefits. But choose your chocolate wisely, mentioned all benefits are referred to dark chocolate, other available chocolate in the market may contain fat.

1. Good for skin

An antioxidant flavonoid in chocolate has a prowess to relieve major grievance of sun burn at twofold pace. It works even better than some sun creams against the sun’s UV ray damage.

2. Stronger hair

Dark chocolate contains copper, zinc, and iron in ample amount which promotes the cell renewal growth process and so the increased oxygen and blood flow to the scalp. Eating chocolate every day will give shiny, stronger and healthier hair.

3. Reduces stress

Eating chocolate eternally helps to reduce stress hormone levels exceptionally. It contains an essential amino acid ‘tryptophan’ which stimulates the production of serotonin, the brains’ natural anti-depressant.

4. Prevent cancer

Cocoa content in chocolate contains a compound Pentamer, which is highly effective to disrupt cancer cells’ ability to disperse. This compound is used to inhibit the proteins necessary for cancer growth and further they stop dividing.

5. Enhances brain performance

It is not only appetizing but works great for the memory of even older people. It improves blood circulation in the brain also along with this cocoa extract lavado which may help to reduce or prevent damage to nerve pathways. Due to this it few symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease could be slowed down.

6. Improves heart health

Chocolate contains a high content of chemical flavonoid, which stimulates the body to make more nitric oxide, it helps to restore flexibility of the arteries and prevent white blood cells from sticking to the walls of blood vessels. Hence, eventually, it improves the blood circulation, lowers the blood pressure and so the risk of heart attack and stroke.

7. Weight loss

Dark chocolate helps you cut down your cravings for sweet, salty and fatty foods. Eventually, it lowers the amount of food consumption. It helps to reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol also known as bad fats and raise the good cholesterol.

8. Fight against diabetes

Chocolate content cocoa has the sensitivity to improve insulin and helps in the development of sugary foods. It also prevents cells from dying of non-oxidation.

9. Help to cure anemia

Chocolate is full of vitamins, fats, fibers, protein, and minerals. Specifically dark chocolate has enough iron to treat iron-deficient anemia or enough B vitamins to treat folate-deficient anemia or megaloblastic anemia.

Chocolate is not a treatment for any ailment but could be very useful to prevent some. It should be consumed by other eatables to live healthily. There are no established “dosages” for dark chocolate. Enjoy it in moderation, perhaps an ounce a few times per week.

The more-is-better rule does not hold true with chocolate.
