The relationship between Vitamin D and Covid 19 continues to be of interest to the specific community as possible way to effectively mitigate or treat the disease.

New Indonesian research has some key findings that Vitamin D is critical to healthy psychological functioning.  The research goes further, implicating Vitamin D deficiency in the fight against Covid-19.

According to the research, a majority of COVID-19 cases with Vitamin D deficiency have died. The odds of death were higher in older and male cases with pre-existing conditions and lower than normal Vitamin D levels. When accounting for the effects of age sex and comorbidity.  Vitamin D status is strongly related to COVID-19 mortality.

A recent report released by Davao doctors college in the Philippines has claimed that normal vitamin D levels were more likely to be observed in patients with mild cases of COVID-19.

To be specific, the team has estimated that, normal vitamin D levels increase the odds of having a mild clinical outcome by approximately 19.6 times.
